From innovative hair removers and smart self-tanners to at-home peels, high-pigment eye
colours and lip-plumping liners, here’s what the 03 team are trying this month.

1. Tan in technicolour
Self-tanning just took an innovative turn with the launch of Bondi Sands’ new Technocolor range ($32 at Chemist Warehouse). Developed over several years using laser skin analysis technology, the collection is classified by different base colours (caramel, emerald, magenta and sapphire, pictured) to enhance skin’s natural melatonin instead of changing it as traditional self tans do.

2. Whip it good
New from luxe local brand Jeuneora, SoWhippy Prebiotic Cream Cleanser ($58) is a bit outside the usual face-wash box. Designed to balance the skin’s microbiome and formulated with agave, a deeply hydrating prebiotic, as well as antioxidant-rich wattle seed, clarifying kaolin clay and refining niacinamide, this deliciously peach-scented product goes on silky smooth and lathers up to a light and fluffy texture.

3. Power peel
Bridging the gap between weekly rinse-off and daily leave-on treatments, Dermalogica Liquid Peelfoliant ($130) delivers treatment-room results at home in just three minutes. Via a maximum-strength combination of exfoliants, the results promise a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles, brighter, more even skin and visibly minimised pores.

4. Smooth operator
A new-to-New Zealand way to remove unwanted hair and smooth skin, Manicare’s Crystal Hair Remover ($45) offers an effective and convenient at-home solution. Using premium ultra-fine crystal technology, it quickly and easily buffs away body hair and dead skin cells. Use on clean, dry skin by rubbing in gentle circular motions, then rinse the area after using.

5. Pucker up
Plump lips the painless way using new Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Shaper Plumping Lip Liner ($47 at Mecca). Supercharged with volumising technology, this long-wear, demi-matte liner comes in six shades (pictured, Cinnamon Swell). Slightly over-line Cupid’s bow and bottom centre lip for a full pout effect, or for a natural contoured lip look, use a shade one to two shades deeper than your natural lip colour, then fill in with lipstick, gloss or balm.

6. Hi-fi wi-fi colour
Utilising MAC’s most pigmented eyeshadow formulas to date and with a hi-tech twist, just-launched Connect In Colour Eyeshadow Palettes ($109) come in three 12-pan palettes (pictured, Hi-Fi Colour) featuring a mix of covetable hues and cushiony textures from ultra-matte to modern metallic with a scannable QR code that provides a portal to an ever-changing online universe of education.
